Have your Kidrobot and eat it too.

Local bakery owner, Zilly of Zilly Cakes, stopped by Hero today for the first time. She was sent to us by our friends at Sunday Skate Shop, after she went there asking if they carry Kidrobot. She came in and asked for me by name, carrying a HUGE white box that she said 'was something she thought we might like'.

Zilly had a huge Kidrobot logo cake that she made for a customer that didn't pick it up. She brought it by since she heard we carry and love Kidrobot. She gave us the cake and just wanted us to 'enjoy it in good health'.

The cake is beautifully made and it is about 12" long and about 6" high and it is layers of white cake with white frosting in between and the whole thing is covered in a beautiful homemade fondant.

I think this calls for a cake party. Who's bringing the milk?

Time to drool over House Industries again...

Every time an email shows up in my inbox from House Industries, I can expect I am going to be wanting most of what is contained. This week's email is no exception, they are featuring their new Holiday Objects and of course, I want way too many things. (Hint hint, Christmas is coming up - I am making it easy for you, buy me pretty much ANYTHING from House and I will be happy.)

Our pals Allison and Craig from Strawberryluna, got me the Ampersand Cutting Board for my birthday last month and it rules my face!! I have it on display in our kitchen and it makes me happy every single morning. (thanks again guys)

Light of India - A Conflagration of Indian Matchbox Art

Our good pal Tom Rooney of Pavlov's Togs brought by this wonderful book Light of India, A Conflagration of Indian Matchbox Art, by for me to thumb through and drool over a while back. I am FINALLY taking the time to scan it and post about it (then sadly give it back).

This colorful book is a dazzling collection of more than 300 vintage matchbox labels from India, dating from the turn of the century through the 1950s, each one is even better than the one before. Abounding with pouncing Bengal tigers, regal jungle elephants, and Hindu gods and goddesses, each miniature masterpiece is so skillfully produced, yet some done ever so simply. I could look at this book time and time again and find something new to look at each time.

Workdress - A must have!

Oh, how I NEED this work dress!! I always dread print days at the studio since I have to dress like a schlep, which I HATE!! But to be able to have lots of pockets, something that can get a little dirty, all while looking CUTE, imagine the possibilities!!

This dress is a wonderful hybrid between an apron and a tool belt! The designer, Caroline Woolard, will only exchange the dress for local goods and services, so I need to come up with a good offer, and fast!

(If you absolutely cannot barter, you can donate $200 in U.S. dollars and take a dress.)
