Geometric Book
I am obsessed with both the simplicity of geometric shapes and the complexity and intricacy of patterns, so this book is a MUST HAVE on my list now, since it's a little bit of both.
Kapitza, an independent Design company based in East London, recently published their new book entitled, Geometric.
"Geometric is a unique pattern resource book featuring an exciting collection of 264 colourful and monochrome pattern illustrations. Get inspired by Kapitza’s pattern art, all created with the 100 Geometric pattern fonts included on the CD for Mac and Windows. Now designing your own patterns is as easy as typing – but with much more exciting results."

The Seed
So beautiful and simple. Love this.
To promote their new version of software, Adobe CS4, John Kelly was given free reign to create The Seed : an animated journey through the life of an apple seed.

So cute you'll wanna eat it...

Well, go ahead. These marzipan treats are from Belguim’s Eugene and Louise Bakery, where things are so cute that you just wanna bite them, and you can!! They look like little vinyl toys, don't they.

Italia Modern Design Book.

Saw this amazing book over at Grain Edit and I want it!!! So many great designs from the 1950s-1970s and includes many of my favorites like Bruno Munari, Giovanni Pintori, Max Huber, Enzo Mari, Pino Tovaglia, Albe Steiner etc. It also includes a fair amount of work from Olivetti and Pirelli.
Anyone know where to find it?

Workdress - A must have!

Oh, how I NEED this work dress!! I always dread print days at the studio since I have to dress like a schlep, which I HATE!! But to be able to have lots of pockets, something that can get a little dirty, all while looking CUTE, imagine the possibilities!!
This dress is a wonderful hybrid between an apron and a tool belt! The designer, Caroline Woolard, will only exchange the dress for local goods and services, so I need to come up with a good offer, and fast!
(If you absolutely cannot barter, you can donate $200 in U.S. dollars and take a dress.)

Nipple Twist and New Wave

These caught my eye immediately, both because they are beautiful and because I am a scumbag.
Dutch artist Parra has released new prints at Pictures On Walls. Both the “Nipple Twister” and “New Wave” prints come in editions of 95 and are signed by the artist. They are now available for 95 Pounds.
POW also got in new prints by Blu, Ian Stevenson, Eelus, Mudwig, Bast and others.

Pantone Insanity
We've posted our fair share of Pantone goodies on this blog...but there is just so much more of it out there. I am a sucker for ALL of it too!! Check out all the wonderful Pantone stuff compiled into two different posts on blogger Laura Sweet's site here and here.
For the record, I am still obsessed with getting the Pantone Eyewear but they never have "where to buy" locations listed. HELP!!!

Penguin Fine Books
Just when I thought I couldn't geek out anymore about book design, Penguin releases a series of beautifully bound hardback books designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. The set includes The Picture of Dorian Grey, Pride and Prejudice, Madame Bovary, Wuthering Heights, Sense and Sensibility, Tess of the d’Urbervilles, Crime and Punishment, Jane Eyre, Great Expectations, and Cranford. Unfortunately, they’re only available in the U.K. currently, so for now we drool at the photos online and make friends with the paperbacks.

Bumble and bumble Holiday Goodies

Saw this over at NOTCOT and I was so excited 'cuz I love Bumble and bumble so much and these products are just amazing. The Bb.Bandball is genius, it's a prestarted rubber band ball for your hair bands, complete with notches for your bands, so no more losing them.
Not only does Bb. have the best hair products I have ever found, their packaging, advertising and their entire aesthetic is always top notch. If you are looking for Bumble and bumble products locally in the Buffalo area definitely go to New Age Salon, and while you are there get the best cut of your life.
From Bumble and bumble about the hair bauble:
“The limited edition hair baubles were designed exclusively for Bumble and bumble by artist, inventor and lover of functional objects, Piet Houtenbos (son of Hair Hero Christiaan). The boxes (designed by resident Bumble and bumble artist Gillian Haro) feature illustrations of hair tools that look like something you’d discover in a curiosities shop - in a mad mix of fun, festive, carnival colors.”
